June 2025 · Smart campus project

WisdomScape

Connect one building as a complete system.

Students worked across cultures during the first summer camp, exploring a campus digital twin through building models, sensors and management tools.

01 / DIGITAL TWIN

Start with a familiar space

Using site observations and architectural drawings, the team modelled the exterior, floors and interiors as a spatial foundation for the digital twin.

02 / DATACORE

Connect services through a data platform

DataCore organises frontend and backend functions for shared data analysis and services, with role-based access for students, teachers and administrators.

Technologies: Spring Boot, Vue 3, TypeScript and MySQL; MQTT and Kafka support the IoT and messaging work.

03 / IOTP

Bring environmental information into the system

IoTP connects sensing, networking and application layers. The team wired and tested devices for environmental information such as temperature and humidity, with a small pilot in Classroom 108 by the end of camp.

Expansion to the whole building was a future plan in the final presentation.

Apply models to specific campus scenarios

The presentation records explorations of posture and fall detection, attendance, an exercise coach and digital humans. These three prototype views illustrate the visual recognition and interaction work.

Feedback shown here comes from demonstrations. Further edge-device deployment remained planned work.

Built through hands-on collaboration

The project grew out of the first summer camp, held June 16–27, 2025. Students discussed requirements, connected hardware and developed prototypes around a shared campus theme.

Supervisors: Riji Yu and Dan Zhang. Final presentation: Zhenxin Lin.
